Apparently Gareth Barry thinks the free kick awarded to Steven Gerrard by referee Mike Riley towards the end of the match on Saturday was a rubbish call. Really, Gareth? But I'm sure you think the handball called on Carra not ten minutes earlier was justified. Bullocks.
Aston Villa was not going to score on that play and it was definitely not intentional. I'm sure Riley realized this and tried to make-up for that call by awarding the free kick. By the way, Petrov was beat and held Gerrard back, if Carra's was a callable handball, than that's easily a free kick.
